1. Define your mission statement and make sure your company image reflects it.
2. Collect your customers' information. I have customer appreciation nights and send postcard invitations.
3. On a big purchase, send a "thank you" card.
4. Small business is about building relationships. Engage customers right when they come in.
5. Have a unique product that people will share with their friends. I don't make much on CDs, but people's friends come in often looking for them.
