While music is more subjective, cool logos are cool logos. You don’t have to love, or even like, the music of a particular band in order to appreciate that band’s logo. With some exceptions, of course, it seems that bands today just aren’t designing logos like bands in decades past, which is truly a shame. A great logo will be enduring, finding its way onto vintage tees and vintage tee reproductions. Perhaps modern bands have forgotten that music fans love to show everyone how much they love their favorite bands. Having an awesome logo better enables fans to show their band love by plastering posters on their walls, slapping bumper stickers on their cars, wearing t-shirts, and sweatshirts, and doodling logo designs when they should probably be doing something else. Here’s a round up of twenty band logos that I think are awesome, not necessarily because I love the music, but because the logo designs embody what any cool logo should. They are simple, versatile, appropriate, distinctive, and timeless.
